Jacob Suever

Jacob Suever is a broadcaster and producer with a strong background in live play-by-play, news anchoring, game-day production, and multimedia storytelling. He is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where he earned his degree in Sports Journalism. Jacob has worked across all levels of sports media, with experience at the San Francisco Giants’ Spring Training, the Sunbelt Baseball League, Phoenix College, and major news outlets including KJZZ News and PBS NewsHour West. Whether he’s directing live broadcasts, operating video boards, reporting from the field, or creating highlight reels, Jacob brings energy, creativity, and precision to every production. His passion lies in capturing the emotion and narrative behind every story, event, and experience.

Jacob Suever – Broadcaster | Producer | Storyteller

Jacob Suever is an anchor, broadcaster, and producer with a deep-rooted passion for storytelling, game-day production, and live sports coverage. A graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jacob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sports Journalism, where he developed a well-rounded skill set across television, radio, digital media, and field reporting.

Jacob has built a diverse portfolio of experience across top-tier media outlets and competitive sports organizations. In the summer of 2024, he served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Atlanta Blues of the Sunbelt Baseball League, delivering daily commentary while also leading graphics production and scoreboard operations. His ability to manage multiple elements of live broadcast production reflects both his versatility and dedication.

He has also worked four seasons with the San Francisco Giants during Spring Training in Scottsdale, managing video board and scoreboard operations at Scottsdale Stadium. At Phoenix College, Jacob served as Broadcast Director, overseeing and directing live broadcasts of basketball, baseball, and softball events—ensuring high-quality productions that captured the energy of each game.

His journalistic experience includes reporting for KJZZ News, the NPR affiliate in Phoenix, where he wrote and voiced radio stories and covered news events throughout the Valley. Previously, he was a production intern with PBS NewsHour West, supporting the daily national broadcast by building rundowns, managing production assets, and designing on-air graphics.

​

As a videographer with BJ Media, Jacob captured dynamic footage of Arizona high school athletes and produced custom highlight reels. His experience also spans radio hosting, podcast production, and in-game event operations. He is proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Daktronics Show Control, and speaks conversational Spanish.

​

Jacob brings a collaborative spirit, strong work ethic, and creative mindset to every production. Whether he's behind the camera, at the desk, in the control room, or calling a game live, he’s driven by a love for the world around him and a commitment to capturing the stories that are unforgettable.

​

Beyond broadcasting, Jacob remains active in community service, volunteering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity ReStore, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and Feed My Starving Children in Mesa.

​

He is currently seeking new opportunities in anchoring, broadcasting, production, and media storytelling.

Jacob has operated the video and scoreboards at Scottsdale Stadium for the San Francisco Giants during Spring Training for the past four seasons.

Jacob spent the summer of 2024 in Atlanta, GA with the Sunbelt Collegiate Baseball League as the sole PxP broadcaster of the Atlanta Blues, All games hosted on Sidearm Sports and the Sunbelt Radio Network.

At KJZZ in 2024, Jacob wrote digital articles and voiced radio stories for Phoenix’s NPR station, covering local news and community features for both broadcast and web.

As a production intern with PBS NewsHour West, Jacob supported the national broadcast by assisting with rundowns, organizing assets, and creating on-air graphics in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Jacob spent his 2022-23 academic year interning with the Varsity Sports Show, which has gained recognition and attention across the valley for its high school and college broadcasts and accompanying weekly radio show on KDUS AM 1060. 

Jacob began as a play-by-play broadcaster for Phoenix College, calling basketball, baseball, and softball games. His role grew into Broadcast Director, where he led the production of live streams, managed crews, and ensured professional-quality broadcasts for the college’s athletic events.
